Koorda
fields of gold
Driving out to Koorda during the peak of Canola season is such a peaceful, laidback journey. We love the laidback country vibe we get from being out in the wheatbelt.
We make the long trek every July with our hives in tow, and collect them again at the end of the bloom in September. Often we’ll spot hot-air balloons in the distance, floating in the cool air above open paddocks and golden crop fields… it’s just postcard perfect!
Canola flower provides a high degree of pollen and nectar, giving the bees a much needed boost during winter, and producing a honey so thick that we need to extract, filter, and bottle it as soon as we get home, before it crystallises. A lot of work but the taste is well worth the wait.
Due to the seasonal availability and popularity of this variety we recommend keeping an eye on the buzz or joining our swarm to get your hands on a jar of golden goodness!
